Spinoni date back to at least 500 B.C. Spinoni make good assistance dogs. The Spinone nearly died out during World War II. The Spinone is named after the Pino, a thorny bush where small animals hide. The thick coat of the Spinone allows it to penetrate Pino bushes to hunt this small game.
